Results from the first round of Hallingdal Pumptrack Series 2021

Updated: 28 Sep. 2021

It was a big weekend for pumptrack cycling in Norway, with the start of this year's competition season at the Hallingdal Pumptrack Series in Nesbyen. A record number of cyclists lined up at the start and the day offered a wonderful mix of little tough guys on balance bikes and lightning-fast elite cyclists on both bmx and dirt bikes.

Results Elite:

In the elite classes, the top riders from last year's series were there to compete for the first prize of NOK 5,000, as well as points for the overall ranking in the new national pumptrack series, the Norwegian Pumptrack Series. But there were also new acquaintances at the top - and once again we saw that dirt bikes can be as fast as bmx in pumptrack. In the end, there were vanishingly small margins separating the top in the compact and fast pumptrack in Nesbyen, but for the second year in a row the victory went to Annika Pettersen and Niklas Halvorsen. Check out the full list of results for the elite class below.

Women's final:

  1. Annika Pettersen: 31.042

  2. Eira Stavanes: 32.306

  3. Susanne Beijer: 33.299

  4. Nellie Aabech: 33.414

  5. Vilde S. Svendsen: 34.441

Men's final:

  1. Niklas Halvorsen: 27.476

  2. Joakim Gaptjern: 27.918

  3. Sixten Simonsen: 28.110

  4. Elias Meland: 28.264

  5. Petter R. Dyrdahl: 29.857

In the junior class, the focus is still on the social aspect, and no points are awarded for the summary. The 5 fastest pumptrack recruits in each class get to ride in the final, and the winners take home both a trophy and great sponsor prizes.

The next round of the Hallingdal Pumptrack Series takes place in Gol on July 24.. The round does not give overall points to the Norwegian Pumptrack Series, but of course there are still prizes, trophies and 5000,- for the winners in the elite class.

Thank you to all the riders, spectators, crew and our phenomenal sponsors, who make the series possible:
