- Development in the cycling village of Nesbyen has been explosive in recent years and the trail openings have at times almost been queuing up. At the start of the summer TyttebærTrøkket and in the fall, the long-awaited flow trail "HallingSpranget" will be ready. The destination now has a brand new illustrated map, which brings together all the cycle-friendly trails from Østsida to Nesfjellet. This will make it even easier for trail cyclists to find the good stuff when they visit Nesbyen this summer.

From the weekend, it became a little easier to be a rider in Nesbyen. Nesbyen Tourist Office put up its brand new cycling maps at Utsikten and Trytetjern. New cycling maps will also be put up in Nesbyen town center shortly. General Manager Solveig Hjallen, who has led the process, is enthusiastic about the new map. "Nesbyen is incredibly lucky to have trail development spread over several large areas from Nesfjellet to Østsida. But it also makes it a little more challenging for us to showcase the product in a good and clear way for our guests. We've taken inspiration from the alpine industry, which has always been good at presenting its arenas visually, and for this process we've collaborated with the leading map illustrator in the industry, Swedish Reintzmap. We are very pleased with the result and look forward to using the map."

Work on the new map has been ongoing throughout the winter and, according to Hjallen, it has been no small process. "Nesbyen has many bicycle lighthouses, and when you want to show them all on one map, you have to be extremely careful with perspective, angle and dimensions. We've also gathered other relevant information for cyclists, such as access routes to the trails, as well as popular services and attractions, such as bike washes and the best swimming spots. During the process, we have tested several different variants to make everything come together, and finally landed on what we believe is the optimal solution. Our working group, with representatives from both the mountain and the city center, has been invaluable in achieving such a successful end result."

Hallingdal Rides has contributed to the process and is currently working on other cycling maps in the region to help path cyclists find their way in Scandinavia's most ambitious cycling region.
