Status update: How the extreme weather has affected the trails in Hallingdal

Updated Friday, September 1 at 13:28: Extreme storm Hans ravaged Hallingdal between August 7-9, causing flooding and major damage. On the weekend of August 26-27, there was again extreme rainfall and flooding in parts of the valley. Below you can see how the storm has affected the trails in the region. We therefore make reservations that the status may differ from the overview or have changed since publication. The case will be continuously updated!

Høgevarde:

The trails are open and good for biking. More maintenance has been carried out and rain-free days help the trails to "settle" relatively quickly. Some damp patches may occur. Shuttling, bicycle workshop/shop and Lavvoen restaurant are open on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the fall. Høgevarde is hoping for drier weather in the future, so a new 1.5 km trail section can be opened in the coming days/weeks.

Turufjell:

The plant is in normal operation.

Nesbyen:

The latest round of storms has once again put the trails to the test. Some superficial damage has been reported on Den Ravinde and the other official downhill trails on Østsida. All trails are open and suitable for cycling, but cyclists are encouraged to ride extra carefully and adapt their speed to the conditions. The trail center at Trytetjern has done well and is in normal operation.

**Hallingspranget is still closed to traffic and the date for reopening is uncertain.

Gol:

Normal operation in Hallingmo Stisenter

Ål:

VestliaÅl city center): Both Bråtabakkjin and Hallingspretten are back in normal operation after repair work in recent weeks.

Hallingdal Bicycle Park: The park is open for biking. Access paths may have somewhat reduced quality due to weather damage, so cyclists are encouraged to ride extra carefully.

Geilo:

In the lift, Gold Digger, Anaconda and Fire Ant are open for biking. Flow Motion is still closed due to damage after the storm. The lift runs on weekends and throughout weeks 40 and 41.

Normal operation in Vestlia Sykkelpark and the paths along the Ustedalsfjord.

Hemsedal:

All lift-based trails and Tottelia are in normal operation. Some reduced accessibility on Silverstone in connection with the construction of new lifts. Damage related to extreme weather has been repaired, but cyclists are still encouraged to ride with extra caution and pay particular attention to uneven surfaces, which may deviate from normal standards. The lift will be open on the weekend of September 2-3 and again from September 30 to October 8. In the intervening period, the lift will be closed due to the installation of a new chairlift.
